How to extend the life of a real christmas wreath?

Keep it out in the frosty air. The cold will prolong its life. Don't spray it as it could freeze and all you will is a round chunk of ice. Don't hang between storm doors as this will really turn it to toast. If it's part of an inside decoration I would suggest having another wreath stored outside and replace it with the fresh one when it starts to brown up and drop needles.

How to extend the life of a real christmas wreath?
I find that soaking the cut ends of the branches before construction prolongs the life of the wreath. I do mist mine, keep them out of direct sunlight and heat. If it is a ready made wreath, cut the bough branches on the back with pruners at an angle and soak the entire thing overnight. Shake it off and lay it out on newspaper or toweling until it isn't dripping water. You can also purchase little tubes that you fill with water and insert on the ends of the boughs, but if it is on a door and moving the water will drip out a little.
Reply:Spray it daily with Lysol. Sound counterintutive, but it works.
