Is there a safe way to move a Robin's nest?

A robin has built a nest in the wreath on our front door. It has already laid an egg and we don't want to have it abandon the egg but it is kind of dangerous to open our front door. Any advice?

Is there a safe way to move a Robin's nest?
Is there anyway to use a different door until the baby birds leave the nest? Your only other options are these: move the nest to somewhere very close by to the original location, and the parents should still be able to find it. Is there a tree or scrub nearby? Or, you can keep using this door and be very gentle everytime you enter or leave. The bird obviously knew this was a busy area when building the nest but still thought it to be safe. Just to let you know..once an egg is laid in a nest..this nest is protected by law and cannot be destoryed. Good luck.
Reply:It's against the law to tamper with a songbird nest,as they are protected by law. Use the back door until the eggs have hatched and the babies have flown away.Think of it as a photo opportunity.
