Wreath laying ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery?

I'm wrtiting an essay to be in the wreath laying ceremony in washington. One thing i have to write about in my essay is what the ceremony means to me. I have never ben to or seen the ceremony, can you plz describe it for me? Also, what is the significance of it?

Wreath laying ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery?
The Tomb of the Unknowns (there is no official title) recognizes the unknown dead from four wars, the first was WW !, and the sarcophagus holds those remains. On the marble surface immediately before the tomb are three marble memorial slabs, one each for dead from WW II, Korea, and Vietnam.

There are formal state ceremonies when the President or his representative lays a wreath at Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. Visiting heads of foreign state governments sometimes lay wreath as well.

By law all US citizens may participate in a ceremonial wreath laying, at the Tomb or at any other grave site in Arlington.

The site below has much information and pictures.

Reply:It the Placing of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown soldiers

The grave marker for those who died but could never be recovered/ or those whose remains could never be identified.

It is guarded at all times by a military detail, To stand guard and keep memory of those who gave their life defending the Nation, and especially those who could never be returned to their families.

While there are many National Cemeteries, Arlington has the Signifcances of it being right outside Washington DC, It is in Arlington on Land that had belong to Robert E. Lee, The General of the South's Army of Virginia in the Civil War.

It Has the Remains of Many soldiers, including a few Presidents, and Generals.

But the Tomb of the Unknowns is the Honored, And is protected by the Third United States Infantry 'The Old Guard',

The Guards is Changed through out the day, in a very formal ceremony.

April 1 to September 30: The guard is changed every thirty minutes.

October 1 to March 31: The guard is changed every hour, on the hour

While the whole grounds are sacred grounds, the Tomb of the Unknowns most so, it is a symbol for the Whole Nation to mourn those lost serving the nation, but mostly that for those that could never be returned to their families to properly bury and moun, the Nation as a whole should mourn and remember.
