I guess he had more important things to do, like pitching another war to his friends in Waco, Texas.

How do you like the way Bush dissed the "Laying of the Wreath" ceremony yesterday?
In a time when a country is at war it is of greater importance that the president show his support by attending veterans day ceremonies.





It is a slap in the face to both those who have fought hard and died in the name of the nation, and those who continue to put their lives on the line in the name of America.
Reply:Yes, that is sad, but true. The interesting part was seeing how good Cheney is at holding his hand over his heart. I mean, it was really glued there.





Of course Bush is busy trying to line up allies for the war on Iran. It's urgent to him, not because Iran is an imminent threat, but because his term of office is almost up.

He had been in Crawford, hosting German Chancellor Angela Merkel the previous day, so stayed in the area at the invitation of the American Legion.

I am sure 8 years with Clinton laying the wreath when he did not serve a day made the dead feel so much better.
Reply:Bush has made it clear what his priorities are and aren't. Vets obviously aren't on his top ten. If they were, he wouldn't be forcing multiple tours, and they would receive stellar health care when they came home. They wouldn't have to jump through hoops to get what they were PROMISED.
